Greetings Comedy Crowders,
Fear isnât a sign youâre doing it wrong. Itâs a sign youâre doing it.
A spreadsheet has a predictable outcome. A sketch you canât finish does not. Your brain hates not knowing how something ends, and creative work is nothing but not knowing how it ends.
So the nervous feeling before you hit submit doesnât really reflect on the work. Itâs just what asking for an uncertain outcome feels like. Everyone whoâs ever made anything good has felt it and then sent the email anyway.

BCG Pro Performance Award
BCG want to find and encourage the best new and upcoming stand-ups, sketch groups, live character acts and other comic performers in the UK. For the first stage of this contest theyâre looking for video (or audio) of you performing.
The final will take place on Friday 20th November 2026 at The Museum Of Comedy in London.

Quirks and Foibles | The Random Sketch Generator
The Random Sketch Generator is a comedy podcast by former Chorts finalists Quirks and Foibles: each episode has a theme, every theme is randomly selected - giving them a month to write some wonderfully random, comedy sketches.
They run monthly open submissions for sketches. The deadline for the next submission window is Wednesday 2nd September 23:00 BST
