It is typical for creators to feel that their idea has been done before. If it's so good then someone else will have done it.
Most ideas aren't truly original, but the uniqueness comes in new realms and methods of execution. You could combine ideas in ways untried, throw old ideas into new formats and take the idea itself out of its comfort zone.
Has your idea been done before? Probably. But has it been done comedically?

I Mostly Blame Myself (IMBM) are a viral comedy troupe from New York heading to the Edinburgh Fringe this summer. With over 750k YouTube subscribers, they have been killing it both online and on stage with their sketches, such as the superb Perfect Town.
We caught up with IMBM creator Sean Mana to find out more about the troupe, the secrets behind their success so far, and how the heck a 9 person team works together to create new sketches. Check it out:

Pentabus Theatre - Jerwood Writer in Residence Bursary
This £12,000 bursary supports a playwright in the early stage of their career, providing them the opportunity to spend up to a year writing at Pentabus in South Shropshire. During their time with Pentabus, the recipient will be supported to write at least one new full-length play or piece of theatre, while learning more about how a professional theatre company works.
The 99 Club | Comedy Bursary
The 99 Club platforms the work of female & non-binary comics taking their first solo show to the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe festival. The programme culminates in selected finalists performing in a showcase at one of our London West End venues. All comedians selected as finalists will receive ongoing support from The 99 Club as well as monetary support for their Edinburgh debut. Deadline to apply is 20th June.
