Greetings Comedy Crowders,
Joe Namath was an American Football player, but his words are even more applicable to comedy creators. And apparently Jude Bellingham.
We need to have fun making comedy for our audience to have fun consuming it. Confidence is vital to helping us do that.
But confidence can be an unreliable partner. It’s flaky, always seems to be busy hanging out with someone else, and never around when we need it most.
Today’s inspiration section talks about how embracing what we lack can be the key to developing the lasting confidence we need to make our comedy shine.

Pentabus announces Jerwood Foundation support for the 2025 Pentabus Writer in Residence Bursary, and the opening of applications. This £12,000 bursary supports a playwright in the early stage of their career, providing them the opportunity to spend up to a year writing at Pentabus in South Shropshire.
Barnfield Theatre - Writing Residency
Join Exeter Northcott as a resident playwright at the Barnfield Theatre for a week at the end of July 2024! The selected writer will be given a week’s paid writing time, a desk to write from at the Barnfield Theatre, and dramaturgical 1:1s with members of their artistic team.
